There are many different ways to care for your dog’s coat and hygiene at home, but allowing them to visit a professional groomer frequently is a great way to keep them looking good and ensuring that their coat and skin stays healthy.

Visiting a professional groomer shouldn’t be seen as a last resort but rather an essential step in caring for your dog. Whilst home grooming is excellent for taking care of the basics, such as everyday brushing and occasional shampooing, you need to take your dog to see a professional for more skilled styling and care.

WHY A DOG GROOMER?

By taking your dog to visit a professional groomer, you’ll be benefiting from a wealth of knowledge, experience and training that will ensure that your dog is styled to perfection, just like Enzo and Maahi.

Groomers are also skilled in taking care of necessary but unpleasant tasks such as dealing with matted coats, or removing fleas. This can prevent your dog from developing further health problems or becoming uncomfortable.

Although groomers aren’t vets, their experience handling and working with dogs every day puts them in a great position to spot health issues that may have gone unnoticed, like suspicious lumps, dental issues and skin problems.

Grooming helps socialise your dog by exposing them to new environments, sensations and smells, and being handled by a stranger also teaches them how to behave in these situations.
