All pre-existing health conditions must be discussed with us prior to grooming.

Sometimes our groomer can discover health / skin / dental issues which you may not have been aware of previously. If our groomer discovers any issues or concerns, these will be disclosed to you upon collection, for you to then seek veterinary advice. Enzo’s Groom Room cannot be held responsible or liable for the discovery of ailments or issues during the grooming process.

Advice may be given; however, our staff have no medical training and are not vets. We cannot and will not diagnose or treat your dog for any medical issues.

All dogs are groomed at the owners’ risk. We retain the right to refuse grooming to a dog which we believe is too unwell / infirm / aggressive / fearful / unfit to be groomed - if we have to end a grooming appointment early and a dog is mid-way through a groom, we reserve the right to charge for the full appointment depending on the circumstances, at our discretion. We may ask you to bring your dog back another time as soon as possible in order to complete the groom if it cannot be completed within the allotted time.

Behavioural Issues must be honestly disclosed prior to grooming. Failure to do so may result in extra charges if extra time is required to complete the groom. We reserve the right to terminate a groom should the dog be too fearful, aggressive or stressed to continue, or the dog poses a risk to itself or us.

Fearful dogs are welcome; however, a rehabilitation programme may be set in place to re-train your dog to be groomed in a relaxed and comfortable manner. This may require more frequent appointments until your dog’s behaviour improves, or he/she learns to be groomed without fear. Accidents thankfully are very rare, but do happen. In the event of an emergency, you consent to us seeking medical attention. This will be at owners’ cost. We will always contact you as soon as possible.

Enzo’s Groom Room cannot be held responsible for reactions to products used; shampoos, conditioners and colognes. Any skin problems known should be disclosed to the groomer. We will not perform any grooming procedure that causes pain or stress. In some cases, nail trimming may be too stressful for your pet and we may need to refer you to a vet for sedation.

We do not offer any anal gland emptying and recommend seeing your vet for this procedure. Any complaints towards your dog’s groom must be mentioned to us 24 hours after the grooming appointment has been completed.

SALON EXCLUSIVITY

Enzo’s Groom Room operates by appointment only and quoted prices includes salon exclusivity in Uxbridge, helping to ensure a calm, low risk environment. Multiple dogs are allowed in the grooming area, in our Uxbridge salon; only if they’re from the same household.

HEALTH & VACCINATION POLICY

Grooming procedures and the environment can be stressful for some dogs, particularly if they’re senior, young, overweight or have any medical conditions. While Enzo’s Groom Room makes every effort to provide additional support to these dogs, we cannot guarantee that your dog will be able to safely continue and reserve the right to stop the grooming process at any time with payment in full being due.

Enzo’s Groom Room is unable to groom in-season (on heat) females. Should your bitch come into season during the time of a pre-booked appointment 24 hours’ notice must be provided. Enzo’s Groom Room does not provide external gland expression as part of any of its services. Internal expression is veterinary procedure and therefore your dog must be referred to your vet. Your dog should be vaccinated and up to date with all flea treatments. Unvaccinated dogs put itself and others at risk. Grooming of sick and elderly dogs is entirely at owner’s risk. Grooming may expose underlying skin or health problems which we cannot be held liable for.

MEDICAL CONDITIONS

A groom can also uncover unknown medical conditions or potentially aggravate a current one. While unlikely, in the best interest of your dog this agreement gives Enzo’s Groom Room permission to obtain emergency veterinary treatment if it’s deemed necessary. We will do our best to contact you prior to taking your pet for treatment, however this may not always be feasible.

PARASITE & FLEA POLICY

If you discover your dog has fleas, ticks or other parasites prior to your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible. We will rearrange appointments for dogs with fleas, ticks or other parasites wherever we can to prevent contamination. If the dog arrives to their appointment with fleas, ticks or other parasites we will reject the dog and you must pay the full price of your appointment.

We always check your dogs for fleas, ticks or other parasites prior to bathing and if we do discover your dog has fleas, ticks or other parasites prior to bathing, we may turn them away to prevent contamination.

It is possible however, that we only discover fleas, ticks or other parasites on your dog when bathing or grooming has already commenced. In this instance, we will continue to groom your dog, however we have to use preventative measures to stop the spread of them to other animals in our care.

Dogs presented with fleas, ticks or other parasites will be bathed in a flea- repellent shampoo (containing natural ingredients), unless asked not to. A £10- £20 charge will be added to your total groom price depending on the severity to cover the cost of additional measures to clean equipment and fumigate treatment of the salon.

If we discover a tick on your dog’s coat during a groom, our groomers are trained to remove ticks with a tick-removal tool and they will do so to try and relieve the dog from discomfort. Due to the nature of the parasite and the way they attach to the dog’s skin, we cannot always guarantee that 100% of the tick is removed in the salon and you may need to seek further advice from a vet.

We will always call to contact the primary person on file, plus any other contacts we have for your pet prior to carrying out any tick removal, however if we cannot reach you we will perform the process required for the welfare of the dog - this may be to not continue the groom, to groom avoiding the affected area or to remove the tick and the decision is at the groomer’s discretion.

Please note, there may be additional charges if additional time is required to perform a groom due to ticks being present. If we suspect your dog is suffering with any other form of parasite, we will contact you as soon as possible.

ACCIDENTS

Enzo’s Groom Room’s grooming equipment is kept sharp to ensure high performance. Even though we use extreme caution and care in all situations, there’s always the possibility that an accident could occur, which could include cuts, nicks, scratches and quickening of the nails. We make every effort to ensure your dog is groomed as safely as possible, but accidents are more likely if a dog moves and wiggles a lot during a groom. If, however, your dog does not accept the grooming process it can be dangerous to continue, in which case, Enzo’s Groom Room will decide in the best interests of your dog, for instance, such as stopping the groom or undertaking several smaller sessions.

CANCELLATION/NO SHOW POLICY

At Enzo’s Groom Room, we understand that life sometimes gets in the way and that appointments may need to be rearranged. As a small business Enzo’s Groom Room asks that you provide at least 48 hours’ notice where possible, as this will enable us to offer the appointment to another customer. We schedule a set amount of time to groom your dog and a missed appointment means someone else has lost the opportunity to have their pet groomed in your time slot. Enzo’s Groom Room messages customers 48 hours prior to an appointment as a
helpful reminder, to try and reduce the chance of any missed appointments.

However, in some circumstances you may incur a cancellation/missed appointment fee which will be payable before any further appointments can be made. If you contact us with less than 24 hrs notice then a cancellation fee of 100% of your appointment is payable. If you fail to contact us and do not attend your appointment, you will be charged the full cost of the appointment.

If you would like to book an appointment following a no-show, please note you will be required to pay for the next appointment in advance, upon booking in addition to your missed booking.

LATE POLICY

As a one-to-one groomer, when your dog has an appointment with me, my time during that appointment is focused on your dog and your dog alone. I value that you chose my private one-to-one services and endeavour to maintain that level of service.

Dropping Off

Lateness, dropping off will unfortunately eat into that private appointment time and I can’t always groom your dog fully in the time I have remaining. I may have other clients and commitments after your appointment. If you arrive late, there is the possibility, I will only have time for a partial groom, such as a Mini Groom or Wash & Go Service. We can discuss this on the day and it will be completely dependent on the
individual dog, its requirements and the circumstances on the day, with regard to the service I can provide in the time remaining.

If this is possible you will still be charged the FULL GROOM price as that is the time slot originally booked and still taken. If you are more than 15 minutes late, I reserve the right to cancel the appointment as I don’t want to pass this delay on to my other clients. I hope you
understand, and would expect the same, if you were the next client unfairly affected by the delay. In this instance you will be charged my late cancellation fee which is 100% of full groom price, in order to protect my business from the negative financial impact that unnecessary empty appointment slots have. This fee must be paid before you can rebook.

Collecting Your Dog

Please collect your dog at the agreed time. All of my clients deserve the private one-to-one service I offer. Dogs still present from the previous appointment can be distressing to other dogs, distracting, meaning I can’t start the next dog’s groom, or in some cases dangerous as not all dogs are social. This is unfair to my other clients. I will contact you if you are 10 minutes late, if no answer, I will ring your emergency contact.
If you are more than 15 minutes late collecting your dog you may be charged as ollows in addition to your Full Groom Price:
0-15 mins – Free but please don’t.
15-30 mins = £7.50
30 mins + = £15

In all cases of lateness, please just contact me so I know what is going on and we can discuss our options.

CONDITION OF COAT

Enzo’s Groom Room practices humanity before vanity and is proud to abide by the Animal Welfare Act of 2006.

The health and condition of a dog’s coat and skin are the responsibility of the owner, as their duty of care towards their dog, to avoid severe matting. Dealing with a neglected coat is very different to removing small knots, tangles, and isolated matted hair as part of a grooming process, which can be achieved quickly without causing anxiety, stress or pain to the dog.

If your dog has a heavily matted coat, Enzo’s Groom Room believes it is kinder to shave it back and will remove the coat using electric clippers, which can sometimes cause skin irritation or skin nicks from the close shaving. Enzo’s Groom Room will not be held responsible for any affect that this has after the grooming session is complete. This process will be done in compliance with The Animal Welfare Act 2006 (Sec 5. Animals are to be protected from pain, injury, and suffering).

Failure to regularly brush a dog’s coat can lead to the build-up of matts close to the skin that cannot be brushed out without causing the dog distress. If you are unsure which tools and / or products to use to groom your dog with between appointments please ask, we're happy to help and advise you. By using our services, owners understand that their dogs will not be subjected to extensive de-matting procedures in order to attempt to keep the coat long and acknowledge that their dog may need to be clipped short should they be found to have heavy matting.

MATTED DOGS POLICY

We understand that sometimes it can be hard to keep on top of your dog’s coat at home and matting can occur, sometimes without you even realising. Matting can cause irritation and sores to your dog’s skin if left untreated. Mild matting can be painful, however in severe cases, it can cut the circulation to your pet’s skin and cause haematomas (severe bruising) which are harmful to the dog.

In the event that your dog’s coat needs to be clipped down due to severe matting, Enzo’s Groom Room is not liable for any post grooming effects such as skin irritation in matted areas or redness (which is not without risk). We will always prioritise the welfare of the dog and our priority in this instance is to reduce discomfort or stress. Small areas of minimal matting can be brushed out for a maximum of 15 minutes on dogs that are comfortable with the procedure. This will be at our discretion as to whether the dog is tolerating the de-matting.

More severe cases of matting may require a complete shave of the coat. This can result in a very short coat length, however much more comfortable for the dog.

Advice on maintaining a well-kept coat is available from our groomers upon request. We also sell many different products on our websites which can help with maintenance of the coat in-between appointments. If you prefer to keep a longer style on your pet, we recommend Mini Groom or Wash & Go appointments in-between Full Grooms to keep the coat brushed and clean and help prevent matts from occurring.

We will always call to contact the primary person on file, plus any other contacts we have for your pet prior to carrying out any de-matting or shaving, however if we cannot reach you we will perform the process required for the severity of the matted coat. The following prices are charged to cover the additional grooming and wear & tear on our equipment:

Small area of matting that needs to be shaved i.e. behind the ear and tail £5-£10
Large area that requires the whole body to be shaved short. £15
Severe matting that requires to be shaved from nose to tail £20-£30

We appreciate you taking the time to read this and if you have any questions or concerns please do ask your groomer or a member of staff.

BEHAVIOUR

Enzo’s Groom Room caters to dogs with nervous traits, but owners must inform us of any such behaviours in order for us to serve their needs to the best of our ability. Owners are also obligated to inform us of any known aggressive behaviours towards people, other pets or any specific grooming procedures. In the event any of these behaviours present during the groom, Enzo’s Groom Room reserves the right to muzzle your dog or ask you to muzzle your own dog. We also reserve the right to refuse or stop services if we believe your dog may become a danger to itself or anyone else.

If your dog should bite, the owner agrees to be responsible for any and all related medical bills, recovery costs, loss of income and equipment damage. Your attention is drawn to the Dangerous Dogs Act which holds owners liable for bites and injuries.

PRICING

The exact price of a full groom depends on the size of the dog, coat type and condition. Please contact us for an exact price for your dog.
Additional costs may be incurred if your dog requires flea or tick treatment.

PAYMENT & DEPOSITS

A 50% deposit of the appointment cost is required for all new customers at the time of booking. Payment for all services is due on collection of your dog. Enzo’s Groom Room accepts both cash and credit/debit card payments.
